14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
As part of their current Fortnight for Freedom Program, the United states Conference of Catholic Bishops has produced a fact sheet entitled “Protecting Consciences/Current Threats to Religious Liberty.” This document is available on line at www.usccb.org/conscience. For those without internet access, a number of copies are available on the tables near the confessionals.
I’m grateful to those who were able to make the last festival meeting: Bob Walls, Nancy Kaliszewski, Kathi Kinzig, Paul Kopkowski, Tom Blais, Jim Yaseski, Ken and Mary Fromknecht, Marlene Landon, Sandi Benes, and Mary Jane Clark. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 10th.
Andrew Boyd will host our first Junior Youth Group meeting for this summer at the school on Thursday, July 12th from 6:30 - 8:30. These fun filled gatherings are open to students going into grades 5th - 9th. If you are planning to attend, please give Andrew a call so that he will have an idea of how many to plan for. Adult chaperones are also needed. If you are willing to help out, call Andy too. His number is 566-5358.
A new Processional cross was recently donated to our parish in loving memory of Therese Kopkowski by her husband Paul. For this weekend, it will be on display near the Baptismal Font.
Thanks to all who were able to help with the festival turkeys this past week. I will publish the names in next week’s bulletin.
On the first and third Thursdays of each month our parish pantry provides food for 21 of our families. It’s our regular volunteers whose dedication make this outreach ministry possible. They are: Ann Oshlick, Peg Koenig, Heddy Hellmann, Irene Rowinski, Tom Matlock, and Christopher Wheeler.
If you can give us a hand with the selling of the festival tickets at the mall, your assistance will be greatly appreciated. We are a little short of help this year and could really use your assistance. Please call Sr. Sue at the rectory to sign up for a time slot.
Dates To Remember
