It is with great pleasure that we announce Pope Benedict XVI's appointment of Bishop Lawrence T. Persico as the new shepherd of the Diocese of Erie! He is our 10th Bishop, and was ordained on October 1st at 2:30pm in St. Peter Cathedral in Erie, PA.

Bishop Persico was formerly a priest of the Diocese of Greensburg as the Vicar General of the diocese, pastor of Saint James Parish in in New Alexandria, and the chancellor of the Diocese of Greensburg.

We here at St. James welcome the new Shepherd of the Diocese of Erie, and we wish him well!
